Twilight, NuMex
NuMex Twilight is a beautiful ornamental pepper plant developed by the University of New Mexico, and released in 1992. The plant has purplish-black leaves, purple flowers, and Pequin-shaped fruit that ripen from purple to yellow, orange, and finally red, creating a colorful display. The peppers deliver sharp, high heat with a bold flavor that can be slightly salty and bitter. Purple fruit tastes grassier and more herbal, while red ripe fruit develops fruitier, raisin-like sweetness. Use fresh fruit as a garnish or in salsa, noodle bowls, and curries, pickled, or dry, and grind them for spice. Modern heirloom.

Did you know? Humidity can reduce the viability of pepper seeds over time, causing seeds to stagnate. That’s why every seed pack includes a silica gel packet to help keep the seeds dry and fresh. To save seeds for next year, place the seed packet and silica gel packet together in a quart-size freezer bag, seal it, and store it in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.
