Mild Heat

Anaheim peppers were first cultivated in New Mexico and later brought to California in the early 1900s for commercial production. The prolific plants produce 6 to 10 inch fruit with a mild, sweet, slightly tangy flavor and gentle warming heat, and will become sweeter when fully ripe. The fruits are excellent in enchiladas, salsas, burritos, soups, and stews, or roasted, stuffed with cheese or meat, and used for classic Chiles Rellenos. Also known as California Chili and Magdalena pepper. Heirloom.

Heat level: 500 - 2,000 SHU

Plant height: 24 - 30 inches

Harvest: 70 - 80 days from transplant

Did you know? Humidity can reduce the viability of pepper seeds over time, causing  seeds to stagnate. That’s why every seed pack includes a silica gel packet to help keep the seeds dry and fresh. To save seeds for next year, place the seed packet and silica gel packet together in a quart-size freezer bag, seal it, and store it in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.
