Sweet

Banana peppers grow 4 to 6 inches long and are usually harvested yellow, though they ripen to scarlet red and become sweetest at full maturity. The thick, crunchy flesh has a mild, tangy, lightly sweet flavor, with occasional gentle heat despite being classified as sweet. Enjoy them fresh, fried, grilled, roasted, stuffed, sauteed, pickled, or used for pepper jam and relish. A good choice for short-season climates. Heirloom.

Heat level: 0 -500 SHU

Plant height: 10 - 24 inches

Harvest: 70 - 80 days from transplant

25 seeds

Did you know? Humidity can reduce the viability of pepper seeds over time, causing  seeds to stagnate. That’s why every seed pack includes a silica gel packet to help keep the seeds dry and fresh. To save seeds for next year, place the seed packet and silica gel packet together in a quart-size freezer bag, seal it, and store it in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.
