Pimento L
Pimento L peppers are native to northern South America and are known for their aromatic sweetness that is more pronounced than many other sweet peppers. The heart-shaped fruit grows about 4.5 inches long with thick, juicy flesh. When fully ripe, they develop an intense candy- or apple-like sweetness with a mild, lingering warmth that works well for both snacking and cooking. Use them in potato, macaroni, tuna or green salads, as a garnish or on pizza, and are excellent pickled. They are also used in Pimento cheese and the nostalgic deli meat Pimento loaf, made with finely ground cured pork and beef, Pimento peppers, and sweet pickle relish. Although classified as sweet, fruit can produce slight heat. Heirloom.

Did you know? Humidity can reduce the viability of pepper seeds over time, causing seeds to stagnate. That’s why every seed pack includes a silica gel packet to help keep the seeds dry and fresh. To save seeds for next year, place the seed packet and silica gel packet together in a quart-size freezer bag, seal it, and store it in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.
