Peter
Peter peppers are native to Mexico and are among the most unusual peppers you can grow. The bright red, 4- to 6-inch fruit is known for their distinctive novelty shape, which resembles an uncircumcised male appendage. They have Jalapeño-like heat with a crisp, vegetal, lightly sweet, fruity flavor and a pleasant bite of heat. Excellent for salsa, sauces, pickling, or drying and grinding into spice, this rare heirloom is also a memorable conversation piece. You just can’t beat a pickled Peter pepper.

Did you know? Humidity can reduce the viability of pepper seeds over time, causing seeds to stagnate. That’s why every seed pack includes a silica gel packet to help keep the seeds dry and fresh. To save seeds for next year, place the seed packet and silica gel packet together in a quart-size freezer bag, seal it, and store it in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.
