Cowhorn
Medium Haeat
Cowhorn peppers are native to Mexico and have been cultivated there for more than 6,000 years. Known as Chile Cuerno de Vaca for their long, curved horn shape, they are now grown world-wide. The thick-walled, cayenne-type fruit grows 6 to 8 inches long and has a mild, sweet, fruity flavor with a clean finish, and moderate, family-friendly heat. Harvest green or fully ripe for roasting, salsa, sauces, pickling, stuffing, and stir-fries. This centuries-old heirloom is also grown in China and has been used for 300 years to make Yongfeng Chili Sauce. Heirloom.

Did you know? Humidity can reduce the viability of pepper seeds over time, causing seeds to stagnate. That’s why every seed pack includes a silica gel packet to help keep the seeds dry and fresh. To save seeds for next year, place the seed packet and silica gel packet together in a quart-size freezer bag, seal it, and store it in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.
